My Hubby's 50th

Two friends from church turned 50 as well, and their wives and I put together a birthday celebration a week ago (September 13th). I was telling my husband a few months ago that another friend that no longer lives in the area also turned 50 and he says "There are so many of us going over the hill, we have ourselves a mountain range", I think to myself 'we have ourselves a theme!' So it was a mountain theme. A friend (that use to worship with us and is now about an hour away) did a great job on the cake and it was delicious!

Each of the birthday guys wrote down 5 things about themselves that people may not know and 2 teams had to guess which birthday guy it belonged to. Too fun! I will share a couple other pictures when I have time.

My Husband cracks me up! :o)

I have been LOL thinking about this and thought I would share it here on my blog.

Last week I called my hubby at work and left a message that he needed to put "sliced American cheese" on the grocery list (he does the shopping after work). He gets home and says "I looked all over for sliced American Peas and I couldn't find any". I just start laughing and go "cheese not peas". He informed me that he went to the produce section and the canned veggies section and then the frozen food section and was about ready to ask someone to help him find it. He said the closest thing he could find was French cut green beans. Too funny!!!

YUM!!

We have our very own dwarf peach tree and yesterday I picked the last 3 peaches. Of course, we only had 4 from it this year. But they are so good fresh from the tree! I didn't think of taking pictures until I had the last one just about completely peeled. Here are some pictures, the first one is just the sliced peaches, the second one is peaches on vanilla ice cream. Peaches and Cream, Yum!!

The Official First Day of Summer

Yay! It's Summer!

I remember for me when the last day of school was over that's when Summer started. We spent whole days playing outside barefooted.

-My younger sister and I would make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Kool-aid, go up on our hill and have a picnic, we loved it!
-Mom would give us a quarter and we would walk a half mile down the road to Stewart's corner store. We would be able to buy a candy bar or a pop for 10 or 15 cents and then get penny candy usually with the rest. Such wonderful memories! I loved (and still do if I get the chance) to get black licorice and use it for a straw if I happened to get pop that time.
-My Mom would fry some of her awesome chicken and make her awesome potato salad and always had chips and pop or Kool-aid to drink and we would go on a picnic to Clear Lake (my favorite!) or one of the other lakes up there in the mountains above where we lived. My Dad would fish and I don't remember what my other siblings did but my sister and I would catch polly wogs and learned to let them go before going home.
-I would ride one of my siblings bikes (I didn't have one of my very own) around in our driveway and then when I was older got to ride it on the road. I loved riding bikes!!
-We would travel to visit relatives in Spokane or Snohomish and I remember staying for a week sometimes. Or my cousins and Aunts and Uncles would visit us. I loved seeing my cousins! We had so much fun!!
...the wonderful memories....
Did you make it to the end of my walk down memory lane? Thank you if you did!
