Butterfly and Roses
Here are a few pictures I took yesterday.
This butterfly must have been a starvin' Marvin! He was fluttering all around our butterfly bushes and I was grateful he stopped long enough for me to get this shot.
...and this shot
I also took these of one of our rose bushes. Not the best pictures but wanted to share a couple.

The auction I went to this weekend was at an old victorian house. I thought it was beautiful! There was so much vintage goodness and antique amazingness! I wish our budget could have withstood some major spending but alas it’s just not meant to be. I am very happy with the vintage greeting cards I bought, though!
Go here if you want to see a little of what I am talking about:
auction
(Don’t know how long that will be there to see)
So during the auction we were informed that the most valuable lithograph to be auctioned off had been stolen. Can you believe it?! Someone walked into the house and just picked it up and walked out! How awful. How can a person look at themselves in the mirror after doing something like that?
I will be sharing pictures soon of the greeting cards, takes a bit of time to scan them. I have scanned some of the Christmas cards and will be sharing a few on my Christmas blog over the next couple of days. Check them out when you have a chance.
I went ahead and scanned a couple. Here ya go...
The inside...
Inside...
Hope you liked my little teasers! :o)

Yay, an auction!
Saturday was such a nice day to go to an auction! It was cloudy but didn't rain. It was around 70 degrees, perfect!
Here are a couple pictures to tide you over until I get some scanning done. These two lots went for more than I could pay, $19 a piece to the same bidder!
The first is a small box of old postcards.
The last picture is a box of vintage greeting cards that I wanted so baaaadddd! (It's OK I am happy with what I got, that you will have to be patient to see!)
I just needed to share these pictures! I haven't been to an auction in months, I was starting to have withdrawals! I shared some of the Christmas cards I got from this auction on my Christmas blog. Cheryl's Christmas Chattels

My Memories Suite v.3 Software Review and Give-away!
I was given by My Memories the opportunity to use My Memories Suite v.3 software. I was so excited when I got it that I used it right away! Check out My Memories. They really do offer a lot with their digital scrapbooking software. You will learn a little bit about what I am talking about as I go through the review. So let's get started! Oh, and make sure to get in on the give-away which is after the review!
Like most anything that you download it will take a few minutes. You get a step by step so it's easy. Once it downloads - let the fun begin!
This software is easy to use.
On the above page I chose the Design Your Own option that My Memories Suite v.3 software offers. You get to choose the album shape and size. I picked the background, then a photo layout from about 80 choices!
I snipped a photo layout sample page:
The possibilities are endless! My Memories has digital scrapbooking kits to buy. As I write this they have 29 FREE combo packs! Here is one that caught my eye (although not free) that will come in handy with some old pictures I have:
You can even use outside content you have on your computer.
My Memories Suite v.3 software has an interaction album option. Meaning full user interaction, ie, links to websites, other files and multimedia elements like music and movies. It can be burned onto CD-R or DVD-R discs and viewed on other computers. There is also the option of having it bound which can be done anywhere that does that sort of thing.
I decided that I wanted to do an actual album with music to show you, when I tried to put it on a blog (members only one I am on) I was having trouble getting it to work. The first thing I did, like always with anything having to do with the computer, I asked my hubby for some help and he suggested I see how helpful My Memories would be when a question is asked. I did just that and got a reply within 24 hours and the info was what I needed to make it work. So I experienced some great customer service!
I burned my album to a DVD and it was super easy. It is easy to read what I wrote on each page. Putting it into a movie that will fit on my blog makes it so you cannot read what's on each page.
Now on to the give-away...
The give-away has a $39.97 value. If you win you will get the My Memories Suite v. 3 software to download! Woohoo! I will give you the promo code to use to get your free software. Ok, so here is how you enter the give-away:
Go to My Memories and from the digital scrapbooking kits tell me which you like the most. That is one entry.
Another entry is to go to their Facebook page and like it, then come back here and let me know you did.
Follow My Memories on twitter for another entry. Come back here and let me know you did. That makes up to 3 entries you can submit for this give-away. We will draw a winner on Saturday at 10pm Eastern Standard Time.
So you are thinking how bummed you will be if you don't win...fear not...here is a promo code to get a whopping $10 off when you purchase My Memories software. That's right your price will be $29.97. How cool is that! And wait, you will also get a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store, a $20 total value! Here is the code:
STMMMS68774
I need to mention that I was given this software to review and will be compensated when the promo code is used. I truly love this software and will be able to get some scrapbooking done that had been put on the back burner because of limited space!
I am going to end with another page I made using My Memories.

Easy Peach Cobbler -recipe from Sweet Tea and Porch Swings
My mom made the best peach cobbler and I have yet to try to make one like hers. In the mean time I am happy to find an easy recipe that is also very yummy. That's right it is very easy and very yummy! I have been wanting to make this for a while now and Easter seemed like a great time to get 'er done! I have to say that the batter seemed a little thin. Wondering if I didn't count right when putting the flour in, I used a 1/3 cup measuring cup (takes a cup) and my 7 yr old was distracting me. I put another 1/3 cup in, it seemed fine in the end. I am amazed at how easy this is to make and the end result is soooo good! Recipe is here: Sweet Tea and Porch Swings
If you are looking for an easy peach cobbler recipe, this is it...look no further... :o)

Vintage Cookbook we bought at auction
I thought I would share a couple pictures of a Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book that we acquired at an auction. This one has everything you would think, hand written recipes on loose paper, recipes from magazines and newspapers. We have many cookbooks that we bought at auction but I think this is my favorite (yeah, a favorite cookbook). My Mom had one from about the same time that I loved. Hers was love-worn, probably even more than this one. The year on this one is 1947, I think my Mom's was about 1950. This may be one of the oldest cookbooks I have.
My husband thinks I have too many cookbooks! Is that possible? OK, I guess it is. That reminds me my name was drawn for the cookbook at Cooking with Libby! How fun is that!

Did you know?
Honey over at 2805 wrote about what is happening with Google Friend Connect I copy and pasted from her blog.
"Google is discontinuing Google Friend Connect this March for all platforms except Blogger. It is also a strong rumor that they will also cancel GFC for Blogger in the near future.
I put the Linky Follower button thingy over on the side bar above the Google Follower button thingy, in case you would like to follow me on that one, too. Thanks! Let me know that you did the Linky Follower thingy and I make sure to go follow you too. (Now you see why I copied and pasted!)

Some of our terrific Blogging Friends got together and contacted Brent, the man behind Mr. Linky. He has created a new Linky Followers platform on which we can connect with each other. I’m still using GFC since I’m on Blogger, but I think this is a great new tool to have to stay connected with non-Blogger friends and, who knows what may happen to GFC in the future.
It's easy to sign up, you just follow his clear instructions. Plus, you don't need a blog to sign up either. Brent’s service is free and he has included some neat options:
- View the blogs you follow
- Read follower posts from your list or on a scrolling feed
- Group your followers
- Mark your favorites for quick access and viewing
- Plus, it’s much easier to follow back someone who is following you (unless you use the "random" set up on how you want your friends pictures to appear) I choose the newest to appear at the top.
- Plus you can even "feature" a blogger!"

Vintage Wallpaper
Our closet in the computer room has a strip of old wallpaper that didn't get covered for some reason when they put paneling (do not like the paneling) on the walls. I took a couple pictures of it to share. I kinda like it!
Our house was built in 1847 and I think that maybe this wallpaper is from the 1930's to 1950's. What do you think?
