Just look at these auction finds!

I will post more later.

Been Tagged Again!

Shelley over at Shelley's Vintage Variety tagged me, I need to tell 7 interesting things about myself (this may be hard)

1.I love to laugh and make others laugh (we have a talent/no talent show put on by someone at church,at their house or another members house, I have done a stand up comedy routine for 3 consecutive years)

2.I was born and raised in The Apple Capital of the World, Wenatchee, Washington

3.When I was 13 my childhood home was destroyed by a boxcar blast on the railroad (we lived next to the switchyard).

4. There is no more room in my house, so I better get to E-Baying!! (Note: Auction this Saturday sounds tooo good, so I gotta make some room :-)

5.The only other country I have been to is Canada. Been there about 6 times.

6. The house we live in now was built in 1840 and started out a schoolhouse.

7. I have a metal detector and frequent a metal detecting forum.

Whew, did anybody find any of that interesting? Maybe I shouldn't ask that, lol.

Thank you, Shelley!

And They go to...

...Lori (Papersunshine)....and Regina. Only 2 people so I decided to give you both something. Please E-Mail me at cmayatlilacwaydotcom with your address. Lori, yes I have your address somewhere the question is where. So I need your address, too.

I am giving Lori what is in the pictures (unless you think you might want something else). And, Regina, I will try to post tomorrow what I will be sending you.
Take care.

The Prizes Are...

The first picture is a pack of 10 Marble Blue Translucent Vellum Sheets, 32 pages of bitty Scrap Pads fabric texture backgrounds and 25 pack of Neutrals handmade Paper. The second picture is a pretty black and white, 12x12, tea and roses. But if the person is not into this kind of stuff I can change it 'cause I have plenty to choose from (as Mark will tell ya).

For Becky's quick answer to what was on my very first post, these Nested Set of 3 Frames. These are deep to put things in 3D. Can't you just see them painted white with pink roses and maybe a few vintage things like maybe a hanky or miniature tea set, I don't know, but I am sure you do, Becky or will know. And if you would prefer something else or maybe even wait and see what I might get tomorrow that would be perfect for you, that works, too.

Cheryl's Place 1 year old today!!

I was thinking about doing something special on here to celebrate but I am not any better at thinking of something for this than I was for my 100th post. Does anybody have an idea? I know, the person who's idea I use will get something for their efforts. I will put a picture of the gift later.

Please, be patient with me the next few days. I have become the assistant administrator on our Family website and I am learning the ropes (sorta speak). Keeps me from blogland a little bit. But it is fun because I am learning more things that I can use on here.

I will be adding more to today's post later, so don't forget to come back.

Warmest regards,
Cheryl~~LOOK DOWN~~

OK, I am going to draw a name from those who leave a comment on this post and they will get.... check back and see. I will draw a name at the very end of the day to give people a chance. Oh, I guess I was the one with the idea..hmmm...I guess I will just have to get me something extra special at the auction tomorrow...yeah, that's it!! {thinking to self "Whew, glad I thought of the idea first"}

I will also give something away to the first person who can tell me what the very first post was about. So that means 2 people will win after all ...I mean 3 (looking forward to the auction tomorrow).

Becky!!

Here are the ornaments I was talking about. They aren't as nice as I was thinking and there are only 2, thought there were more. I put a few extras in the pictures, some light pink ornaments and a wreath that I figure a person could flock and put a pink ribbon on.

I tried to send this in an E-Mail, but for some reason it's not working for me right now.

Have You ever had....

Plus
Pumpkin Pie ice cream? I picked some up (couldn't pass up $1.88 for 1.75 qts.) at the store last night because I heard it is good. My boys and I had some and if you like pumpkin pie you will love this!! Luke said it was now his favorite ice cream. It actually has crust in it which added to the taste, and I could have handled a bit more of the crust. So it was close to being pumpkin pie ala mode. Ya'll have got to try it! If you do get the chance to try it let me know what you think.

Remembering Mom

Today is the anniversary of my Mom's death. I miss her so much! Maybe it wouldn't be so hard if one of the comic strips wasn't running the story of the Grandpa going through the same thing right now. The comic strip is, of course, “For Better or For Worse”. The link is on the right hand side.

My Mom loved music and loved to sing. My sister tells a story (after my Mom lost her speech from the first stroke) about going to church with Mom and the tears in my Mom's eyes because she wasn't able to sing along. My Mom's favorite hymn was “Victory in Jesus”. That is a wonderful song, we sang it at her funeral. The last verse and the chorus go like this:

I heard about a mansion he has built for me in glory, And I heard about the street of gold beyond the crystal sea; About the angels singing, And the old redemption story, And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory
chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever, He sought me and bo't me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood.

My Mom obeyed the Gospel a couple years after my Dad passed away. There is a lot of significance to that, because, you see, my Mom was afraid of water and she rose above that fear to be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of her sins (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38). I am proud of my Mom. I know her “some sweet day” came 2 years ago today.

I'll get you my pretty...

...and your little dog, too! Do you remember that from the Wizard Of Oz? The wicked witch of the West was the most scary part, to me anyway. It would be on about the same time every year. Even with the scary part it was a fond memory because it had more good than bad. I loved the little munchkins, so cute. These are a couple pictures of someone's Halloween decorations. Mark and I cracked up when we saw it, I think being in that tree had something to do with it.:-)

Just In Case

Friday during the 2 day (turned into 3) yard sale I was having (more on that later), Matthew tells me that Luke hurt him and so I talk to Luke about it and he says he didn't, so I tell that to Matthew and he tells me "he could have". He was getting Luke in trouble before the fact, just in case. Where do they come up with this stuff? It's like, you look like you are going to hurt me so I better get you in trouble now for thinking about it.

The money I brought in from that yard sale is going to a friend, a dear sister in Christ who will be having major surgery on November 5th and needs help with expenses. She will be flying to Minneapolis for it. Anyway, at a later time I will have more about that.

I will hopefully be putting a few more things on E-Bay soon. Don't want to miss that. Hopefully I will not continue to single handedly keep E-Bay in business. LOL

Third Times A Charm

At least I hope. I have put this afghan back on E-Bay. I really want it to sell, can't you tell, lol.
